FAQ
Below are the questions we get most often, answered in the same voice we use everywhere else on this site. If your question isn't here, write hello@watiowl.com — we read everything.
About the racks
What's the difference between your four racks?
The flagship is the Heavy Duty Clothes Rack — 650 lbs capacity, two sturdy shelves, double rails, wheels. It's the version we recommend if you're choosing one rack to live with. The other three are variations: the Double Rods Rolling Clothing Rack (260 lbs, one shelf) is lighter and more compact; the Double Rods Clothing Rack (280 lbs, two shelves) is a stationary, more economical option; the Portable Clothing Rack with Wheels (180 lbs) is the version we designed for the smallest apartments.
How much weight can your racks actually hold?
The number on the page is the number we tested to. Heavy Duty: 650 lbs. Double Rods Clothing Rack: 280 lbs. Double Rods Rolling: 260 lbs. Portable: 180 lbs. We test conservatively — the rack does not fail at the listed weight; the listed weight is the upper end of "comfortable daily use."
Will the rack fit in my space?
Each Amazon listing has full dimensions, including footprint and height. If you're working in a tight space, the Portable model is our smallest. For dimensions in writing before you buy, email sales@watiowl.com.
Are the racks suitable for heavy coats and winter wardrobes?
Yes — that's actually what most of them were designed for. The flagship was engineered to handle a full winter wardrobe (wool coats, leather jackets, a few suits) without sagging. The 650 lb capacity is not for show.
Buying and shipping
Why do you only sell through Amazon?
Because Amazon handles the warehousing, shipping, and customer service framework at a level a small team can't replicate from scratch. We make the rack; Amazon handles the delivery promise. For now, that's the right division of labor.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently, no. We ship within the United States via Amazon. International availability is on the long-term roadmap but not in the near term.
How long does shipping take?
Standard Amazon timelines apply — typically 2 days for Prime members, 3–5 days for standard delivery. Specifics show up at checkout on the Amazon listing.
Is shipping free?
Free US shipping is available via Amazon Prime. Standard Amazon shipping policies apply for non-Prime accounts.
Warranty and returns
What's the warranty on a WATIOWL rack?
The Heavy Duty Clothes Rack carries a 1-year manufacturer warranty. The other three racks are covered under Amazon's standard return window (typically 30 days from delivery). If a part arrives damaged, contact support@watiowl.com directly — we'll handle the replacement.
What if I'm not happy with the rack?
Amazon's return policy applies to all four racks. If you've used the rack and something feels wrong about it, we want to know — write support@watiowl.com. We read every note.
A part is missing or broken in my box. What now?
Email support@watiowl.com with your Amazon order number and a photo of the damaged part. We respond within 24 hours and ship the replacement piece directly.
Care and assembly
How long does assembly take?
Most people finish in 20–30 minutes. The Heavy Duty model takes closer to 40 minutes because of the additional reinforcement. Tools are included.
Do I need help to assemble it?
No. Every rack is designed for one-person assembly. That was a constraint from the beginning: if you live alone, you should be able to put your own furniture together.
How should I clean the rack?
A dry cloth handles routine dust. For stains, a damp cloth with mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners — they'll scratch the finish.
Can I move the rack while it's fully loaded?
Yes, on the wheeled models. The casters are rated for the rack's full load. We recommend locking the wheels once the rack is in position.
